Norskin was started to ensure that every part of what we harvest from the sea is utilized, leaving nothing to waste.
Based in History
To survive in the harsh environment of the Arctic, our forefathers had to be creative and use what they had available to build a life.
Leather from the sea provided them with clothing, shoes and windows for their homes. Our product builds on centuries of history and experience. Although we use modern equipment, the process is based on the same as they used.
Ideally Situated
Most of the fish skins we use is harvested locally from the fjords near our production site, primarily Skjerstad Fjord. The skjerstad fjord salmon is organic and has the highest ranking – Global GAP. The ice-cold brackish water combined with the world´s strongest tidal current, Saltstraumen, makes a unique ecosystem. This makes the fish welfare especially good and gives good conditions for top quality skins.
